Swinging Sixties

On the 15th October 2011, Anne Hall and Janet Beal organised a Swinging Sixties night to raise money for AICR. Everyone entered into the spirit of the sixties by wearing wigs, mini skirts and flower power!

The event was held by the Hamble River at the Warsash Sailing Club. 'Drunk to Dance' kindly provided the music for free. AICR's very own Dr Mark Matfield went along to the evening to give a short talk about the research we are funding.

"Both Janet and I have lost relatives to cancer and thus the choice of charity. I was inspired to choose AICR because of attending the post London Marathon event with my friend Dev who runs each year and liked the personal touch AICR has as well as the fact it ‘has no boundaries’."

The event was a huge success and £756.36 was raised for AICR.

Thank you to everyone involved.
