We organised a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Kilimanjaro to raise funds for our vital cancer research.

Every day, thousands of people are faced with the challenge of beating cancer and over half of these people still cannot be treated effectively. AICR dedicates itself to funding only the very best cancer research across the world. So, it’s particularly fitting that our fundraising challenges are also international!

The trek, which took place on 8th – 16th September 2011, guided our trekkers through dense rainforests, open moorlands, dwindling heath land and fabled glacial craters. They were also greeted by towering Eucalyptus trees, a vast array of wildlife, and some of the most beautiful vegetation in the world!

Watch the short video below to see how our wonderful trekkers got on.

Have you been inspired by our team? If so, there is still time to make a donation here.

There are a selection of photos from the trip on our Flickr page. You can view them here.

Some of the Kilimanjaro participants got together in the Lake District for a training weekend. Watch the Vlog below to see what they got up to!
