eBay for Charity

What is eBay for Charity?
eBay for Charity is an easy way for buyers and sellers on eBay.co.uk to support their favourite charities. Buyers can shop for items knowing they’re supporting a good cause, be it an everyday bargain or a special auction. Sellers, whether they’re individuals or businesses, can donate a percentage from any sale to a charity of their choice and add Gift Aid to their donations. Charities can also sell their own items directly on eBay.co.uk.

eBay for Charities was set up to make it easier for people to sell their unwanted items and give a percentage of the profit to their chosen charity. Click here to read more about eBay for Charity.

Inspired? Then why not sell some of your unwanted items on behalf of AICR? All you have to do is pick the Association for International Cancer Research when you are listing your item and the rest will be done automatically. In addition, all eBay for Charity items will qualify for a fee credit on basic insertion and final value fees equal to the percentage donated.

How much can I donate?
You can choose to donate between 10% and 100% of your final sale price and if you are a tax payer then AICR is also able to collect Gift Aid on your donation.

Who runs it?
eBay for Charities is run by eBay and MissionFish. eBay for Charity helps charities of all sizes to raise funds by trading on the eBay marketplace. It also gives over 21 million eBay.co.uk users a secure and efficient way of donating a percentage of their sales to a charity of their choice.

As eBay’s partner for the eBay for Charity programme, MissionFish vets charities, processes donations, collects Gift Aid and advises charities on how to make the most of the eBay marketplace.

What will my listing look like?

Once listed your item will feature a charity ribbon, our name, logo and the percentage you are donating to AICR. As well as your item being listed in the eBay category you originally selected, it will also be listed on the AICR eBay for Charity page.

Do I have to do anything else?
No as after your item has sold MissionFish collects the donation from the seller, claims Gift Aid on your behalf, and passes the money on to AICR, making a small deduction to cover costs.

It really is as simple as that so start selling!
