Cancer Information

Much of the research AICR funds is of a fundamental nature. That is, the projects investigate the building blocks of life - the methods by which cancers start and develop.

It is only by carrying out this type of research that a cure and treatments will be found. In the past few years we have funded hundreds of projects looking into a wide variety of cancer types including:

  • Prostate cancer
  • Breast cancer
  • Colon cancer
  • Bowel cancer
  • Lung cancer
  • Brain cancer

If you would like information on these or any other types of cancer, we have some booklets and leaflets in our Document Library that may be of interest to you.

We have also compiled several Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) looking at some of the most common forms of cancer. These contain a wealth of information on the symptoms, causes and treatments available. You can find these sections in the menu on the left - they are being added to every month.

Finally, we have compiled a list of Internet Links that may be of benefit.

Please feel free to look through all of this information and let us know if it has been of use to you. If you have specific questions, please email us at: enquiries@aicr.org.uk

By funding only the best science, we ensure that we have the highest chance of making significant progress.  Applications for funding are peer reviewed by our Scientific Advisory Committee and many are also sent to two experts in the field for external review.
