Sometimes it may seem to donors that there is so much work to be done and that an individual contribution can't achieve much - nothing is further from the truth.
Hugh Gillan of Drumcarrow Farm, St Andrews, called into our offices to hand over a cheque for £1000. The cheque represented donations to the charity in lieu of gifts marking Hugh’s 50th birthday.

Dear Geraldine, I am delighted with your good and unexpected news. It is extremely gratifying that our research effort is recognised and supported in this way. Such generous donations help us to purchase essential items of equipment and reagents, and make a real difference to the progress of our research. This kind donation will inspire an already enthusiastic research team. |

The same is true of each and every donation we receive, no matter how small. A few pounds may not seem like a lot, but when it is combined with a few more from thousands of AICR supporters, it adds up to an amount that can fund entire projects.
Thank you to the Gillans for their kind donation, and thank you to everyone who supports AICR.
