The Great British Duck Race

In 2001, 123,500 ducks were raced in Singapore, raising $1,200,000 Singapore in the process.

In 2007 the Great British Duck Race smashed the Singapore World Record by racing 165,000 yellow plastic ducks down the River Thames and raised over £100,000 for 440 UK charities – AICR was one of these charities.

The Great British Duck Race 2007

For 2008 they want to do it bigger and better; they will be attempting to race a quarter of a million of our little yellow friends down the 1 kilometre race course! This will break the record they already hold, and prove to the rest of the duck racing world that Great Britain does it better!

On Sunday the 31st of August the ducks will take to the water on the dedicated course at Moseley Dock, near Hampton Court Palace.

All you need to do is visit AICR's official Great British Duck Race website and adopt a duck (or two). Ducks cost £2* to adopt and if your duck crosses the line first you could win the £10,000 first prize. There are also 30 other top prizes to be won. (*your £2 includes a donation to the 3 lead charities, however additional donations can be made to support AICR.)

Adopt a duck today! Be a record breaker and join in the fun.
