AICR takes part in Twestival

The Twestival is a worldwide meet up of Twitter users. Twitter, for those who don't know, is a microblogging platform used by people around the world to keep in touch and pass on information. AICR has been using it for a couple of years to keep supporters up-to-date with projects we are funding and events in which we are taking part.

On Thursday 12th February, AICR was proud to be at the Edinburgh Twestival providing a live audio stream of the event for those people who could not make it along in person, or just wanted to listen from wherever they were in the world.

Almost 300 people came along and had a great time meeting friends old and new. Cellist Peter Gregson started things off with a wonderful set of classical tunes in a very modern style. Singer / Songwriter Plum then entertained the crowd with her songs before headline band Epic26 played a great set to send everyone home happy. They even managed to keep a smile on their faces when the power to the stage went out! Luckily Jonathan and Sean, the excellent sound engineers managed to re-route power from the kitchen to keep things going.

Congratulations are due to all of the organisers who put in a great deal of work to get the event off the ground. We look forward to going along to the next one!
