Details of the projects we have funded since 2000 as well as those we are currently funding are accessible from this page. We provide details of the institutions where the projects are being carried out, and the specific area being investigated.
Supporters often ask how we select the most worthwhile research, to ensure that the money we have available is used to the best possible effect. This is an important part of our work because we receive more than 600 grant applications for promising research into cancer every year.
Our stringent review process starts with each application being assessed by at least 2 leading scientists in the appropriate area of expertise. The applications then go before AICR's Scientific Advisory Committee, which reviews them all and grades them according to their scientific quality - making sure they are not duplicating work being done elsewhere. The highest grades only go to the very best - reputable researchers seeking funds for a really worthwhile project that will significantly improve our knowledge in a particular field.
