Every year, 16,000 people in the UK die from bowel cancer. There have been improvements, yet the five-year survival rate for bowel cancer is still only 52%. That’s where we were with prostate cancer in 1993 and breast cancer all the way back in 1973.
There are two ways to improve that survival rate. One is for a research breakthrough to lead to improved treatment. That is why AICR has launched the Spotlight on Bowel Cancer Appeal, to call for more donations so it can step up investment in pioneering bowel cancer research.
The second way to improve the survival rate is for bowel cancer to be diagnosed earlier. Our FREE booklet includes what to look out for.
With more research and earlier diagnosis, more than 9 in 10 people with bowel cancer could survive. Please TAKE 2 ACTIONS NOW to help save lives.
