Ryan Grant and three of his friends decided to take part in the Birmingham Half Marathon last year to raise money for AICR's Spotlight Appeal. The motivation behind them taking part was that Ryan had lost his Uncle in September 2007 and he had wanted to do something to honour his life.

The reason I chose the Spotlight Appeal was due to the loss of my uncle, Austin Grant, last September. I wanted to do something to remember him as he was such a great uncle, dad, brother, grandad and friend to many. My Auntie, June Grant, gave me your details as I wanted to ensure the money raised went to the people who helped him and that it funds prostate cancer research. |  |
The three friends who took part with Ryan were Lee Causer, Gordon Thomson and James Dampney. Together they raised an amazing £3025.85! We would like to give them a big thank you for their fantastic effort!
