The Association for International Cancer Research would be delighted if you could join us in celebrating our 30th Anniversary in 2010. We have arranged an international scientific conference entitled “Today’s Research – Tomorrow’s Therapies” to be held in the historic city of St Andrews, Fife, Scotland from 7th to 9th April 2010.
The Anniversary Conference is a major gathering for scientists working to illustrate how development in basic research can feed through to translational studies and the important role of model systems in both areas of cancer research.
Over the past 30 years, AICR has supported over 1,650 research projects in 32 countries and has spent in excess of £125m worldwide. AICR is the only cancer charity which funds research anywhere in the world, giving us a truly international perspective on progress in this area.
Recognised worldwide as the ‘Home of Golf’, St Andrews is a charming and picturesque royal burgh; it is rich in history and still retains many important historical sites and preserves the mediaeval layout of its town centre. Located on Scotland’s east coast, St Andrews offers miles of unspoilt sandy beaches and is the perfect base from which to explore the wider Kingdom of Fife and the rest of Scotland.
The conference will take place in the Fairmont St Andrews, nestled proudly amidst the rugged, coastal landscape of the North Sea, whilst commanding spectacular views of the bay's golden beaches and medieval St Andrews.
We hope you will help us celebrate our 30th Anniversary in style and we look forward to seeing you in St Andrews!
